MEET THE HOSTS
SHAY BRICKHOUSE

Shay is the Owner of Landscaping Unlimited Inc.
As a NC Licensed Landscape Contractor, NC Licensed Irrigation Specialist, and NC Licensed Pesticide Applicator, he took the reins of the company his father founded in 1989 and has pushed it into a new era of growth. Landscaping Unlimited is now a full-service landscape and hardscape company serving eastern North Carolina with high standards, honest work, and a commitment to doing the job right the first time.
On any given day, you’ll find Shay in the field with the crew, walking properties with homeowners, or sketching out solutions to the problems most people don’t even see yet, like drainage, grading, plant health, and long-term maintenance.
He believes blue-collar work deserves respect, and he built Landscaping Unlimited around a mindset of serving the community, taking pride in the craft, and standing behind every job.
On The Landscaping Podcast, Shay brings that same no-nonsense perspective to the mic, sharing real-world lessons from decades in the dirt.

ZAC SMALL
Zac is the COO of Landscaping Unlimited Inc. and co-host of The Landscaping Podcast.
A U.S. Navy veteran, former middle school teacher & federal worker, and currently a professional photographer as well as landscaper, Zac traded the classroom and corporate comfort for boots-on-the-ground blue-collar work;
Zac chose to build something real with his hands, his mind, and his family.
At Landscaping Unlimited, Zac sits at the crossroads of grunt work, operations, media, and storytelling. One day, he’s in the dirt with the crew making sure jobs run smoothly; the next, he’s behind the lens or the mic, documenting the process and showing homeowners what quality landscaping actually looks like. He believes landscaping is more than mowing grass; it’s solving problems, creating spaces families are proud of, and raising the standard for what “good enough” should be.
On The Landscaping Podcast, Zac brings the perspective of the homeowner-turned-landscaper: Asking the questions regular people are thinking, breaking down industry jargon, and pushing for real conversations about money, expectations, craftsmanship, service, family, and community.
