Let’s Clear That Land Up, So You Can Finally Use (or Sell) It
That overgrown acreage is not doing you any favors. It is costing you money, options, and time every season you let it sit.

That overgrown acreage isn't doing you any favors; in fact, it's a net negative, costing you money, options, and time every season you let it sit.

Maybe it came to you when your granddad passed; maybe you bought it ten years ago with every intention of putting a shop on it, or a house, or running a few head of cattle...

Maybe it is the back three acres behind your place that used to be open and is now a wall of sweetgum saplings, greenbrier, and whatever else volunteered itself to take root while you were busy living your life.

It is still yours; you are still paying taxes on it, but somewhere along the way it stopped being land you cared about and started being a problem you drive past...

We clear that.

This video is about finding the leaks in a business and plugging them before they drain you dry. But if you watch what is happening on the screen while I say that, you'll see a tractor knocking down a field that got away from somebody.

That is not an accident...

The same thing that happens to a business happens to a property; you do not lose it all at once. You lose it one season at a time, one thing you meant to get around to, until one day you look up and you cannot even walk the property line.

What overgrown land is actually costing you

If that land is sitting idle, it is not neutral; it is, in fact, a net-negative in your life.

You are paying property tax on ground that produces nothing; you are losing the ability to lease it to a farmer; you are losing hunting value, because good habitat and a thicket are two very different things, and if you ever decide to sell, you are giving every potential buyer a reason to knock your number down, because now they have to price in the clearing that you never did.

Then there is the stuff that goes beyond dollars; the thoughts that weigh you down at random when you think of it, the snakes, mosquitoes, and ticks breeding, or the squatters who may turn your property into their campsite.

And every year you wait, it gets more expensive.

A pasture idle for two seasons is a bush hogging job; the same pasture idle for eight years has pine and gum with real diameter in it, and now you are talking about mulching, stumps, and hauling.

Nationally, light brush clearing tends to start around a couple thousand dollars an acre, while heavy forest with large trees can run $4,500 to $8,000 per acre, depending on terrain and density.

The good news for us down here is that Southeastern states typically come in below national averages. The bad news is that the clock only runs one direction, and waiting has never made a clearing job cheaper.

What We Do

Landscaping Unlimited doesn't show up with a dude holding a chainsaw and throwing material on a trailer.

We are licensed as both a general contractor and a landscape contractor, and we are insured. That combination matters more than people realize, because it means we can take a piece of raw, overgrown ground and carry it all the way through to a finished, usable property without you having to line up three different outfits and play referee between them.

Bush hogging and brush cutting for pasture, fields, and treelines that just need to be knocked back and put on a maintenance schedule. Full land clearing when you need the trees, the undergrowth, and the root systems gone so you can build. Treeline reclamation to push the woods back off your yard, your fences, and your ditches where they have been creeping in for years. Lot prep and grading so you have a clean, drained, buildable pad instead of a mess someone has to fix before the first load of block shows up, and debris handling so you are not stuck with a burn pile the size of a barn.

When the ground is clear, we can even build the building on it if you want.

Driveways, patios and walkways, outdoor kitchens, lighting, irrigation, pools and spas, sheds and tiny homes, custom builds; one company, one number to call, one crew that already knows the site because we opened it up.

The three kinds of people who call us

The builder. You have a lot, a plan, and a timeline; you need the land ready, graded, and drained so your slab goes in on schedule, not three weeks late.

The seller. You are putting the property on the market, and you know full well that a buyer standing in waist-high brush cannot see what he is looking at. Cleared land shows, while overgrown land makes excuses. A few days of work often pays for itself several times over in what the property brings.

The owner who is just tired of looking at it. No grand plan at all; you just want your yard back. You want to see the pond again and walk to the back of your own property without a machete. That is a completely legitimate reason to call, and it is a big chunk of the work we do.

Let's get it on the calendar

Winter and early spring are the best window: the vegetation is down, the ground is firm, and the machines aren't fighting heat and green growth. That means the calendar fills up fast, and the people who call in January get the spring dates.

So walk out there this week. Look at it. Decide what you want that ground to be a year from now, whether that is a house site, a pasture, a food plot, a clean lot with a sold sign on it, or just a yard you are proud of again.

Then call us and let's put together a real number and a real date.

Landscaping Unlimited. Serving Washington, Bath, Belhaven, and all of Eastern North Carolina. Licensed general contractor and landscape contractor, fully insured.
